About us

Takis and Dimitris Christofileas brothers, along with Diomedes Kapsalis, three visionaries of gastronomy that share common values and dietary codes, created in 1996 Deipnosofistirion Catering. In the years that followed, the perception of food as an essential and integral element of culture, the uncompromising quality, the renewal of tradition and the meticulous adherence to international trends enabled Deipnosofistirion to dominate. The organization of receptions and wedding events, business events and private dinners constantly receive credit of excellence. The accumulation of valuable knowledge and the privilege of being surrounded by top chefs, confectioners and mixologists brings as a corollary the establishment of the School of Gastronomy in 2016. As Deipnosofistirion΄s founders say, “over the last 20 years, we have created a ”school” in gastronomy. Now it’s time for that “school” to become a reality, a space of its own, an ark of excellent materials, techniques, tastes, experiences, worth of being experienced by any lover of good food, by any refined person … “.

Οur Premises

The School is housed within the premises of the National Gymnastics Association opposite the Zappeion, at 6, Vasilissis Olgas Street. It is easily accessible through Syngrou or Vasileos Konstantinou Street, via Ardittou Street, or it can be easily reached by all means of public transport.
The spacious hall of about 300 sq.m. consists of the reception area, the dining room, and a spacious kitchen. It is characterized by its openness, but also its positive aura: The enormous glass windows that dominate it from end to end allow natural light to dissipate in vast amounts while the view of the green pitch area and the wooded Ardittos hill creates a unique setting, contributing to a truly delightful experience.
The open space kitchen accommodates eight fully equipped cooking workstations enough to “train” a total of 16 pupils, plus one for the chef. The large (close to 7 meters long) bench simplifies food preparation processes, while the space is equipped with Bosch electrical devices and appliances. In front of the kitchen there are spacious refectory style tables, which can accommodate up to 40 people and where participants will be able to taste their creations at the end of the course sessions. Shelves, lockers, cabinets, a dressing area and changing facilities, utility rooms and all kinds of utensils and accessories constitute the kitchen of your dreams, where functionality meets pleasure.
Our main design principle is minimalism, the basic material is wood, while soft white is the color that dominates the space, creating the right conditions for creativity to flourish and grow into a genuine passion for food.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, there are reductions for those who attend more than one seminar, and for those who come in groups or with a friend or family member (minimum of 2), for unemployed and for students or Deipnosofistirion Catering clients.

You can pay in cash, by a debit or credit card.

You can keep it with the payment of a reasonable fee.

Besides your good mood, we supply your outfit (apron and bonnet), some basic tools and cooking accessories as well as, depending on the case, some of the raw materials to cook.

After completion of each Cooking cycle or seminar a certificate of attendance will be given to participants, signed by the chef-teachers of the School.

Certainly. Take a look at the seminars and course units and you will find what suits you best.

You can eat on the spot, after class or take it away for home.

Of course. You will receive all the recipes of each course together with notes, so that you can practice whenever you want.

The method is absolutely practical. Participants prepare their dishes in their personal cooking work station, simultaneously with the chef, while he is supervising them. Nobody stays only as a viewer, everybody has to put his hands in the “fire”! Theory is incorporated in practice and no time is spent on unnecessary activities. This is a proven and fully creative process that provides you directly valuable knowledge and experience.

To everyone. Beginners, advanced, professionals, even children (for which there are specific groups). Cooking Circles and Seminars are structured so that everyone can participate without any preconditions.

The renowned Jean Louis Capsalas is responsible for the cooking classes, while desserts are reserved to Dionysis Alertas. However, there are many guests in the seminars such as chefs, mixologists and bar tenders.

Located opposite the Zappeion inside the National Gymnastics Club facilities (6,Vassilissis Olgas St), the School has the privilege of being accessible to all means of transport. The brand new space is distinguished for its comfort, aesthetics and sophisticated equipment.

First of all, you will have a good time! You’ll have fun, you will be trained, you will meet interesting people and cultivate your talent. Cooking and baking is not just some technical or secret recipes. It is another world, a new life!
